What are ‘Dermal Fillers’?

Dermal fillers can be used to smooth wrinkles or fine lines, enhance lips or alter facial imperfections such as scars. A dermal filler you may have heard about in the media is Collagen. It was approved by the US Food and drugs Administration in 1981 and is now commonly used in the UK. Collagen is gently injected into the skin to plump lips or smooth wrinkles. By injecting dermal filler into wrinkles, through an entirely safe procedure, skin can be rehydrated resulting in improved skin elasticity.

How long does Dermal Filler treatment take?

Treatment usually takes just under an hour, which is efficient since fillers produce a temporary, natural effect to restore your face.

What is ‘Botox’?

Botox, also known as Botulinum toxin, is injected into skin tissue to relax facial muscles and reduces wrinkles. The facial muscles that produce the wrinkles become temporarily paralysed which results in smooth skin where there once were wrinkles.
